I'm happy to be apart of the M.O.B. blog hop! Where it's all about boys...
I am a homeschooling mama of seven amazing children; four of them being boys. Their ages are fifteen, eleven, six and three. Raising boys is so much fun because they are, well, different than me. Not to mention I love their adventurous spirit, their love for everything dirty, insects, Nerf guns, and monster trucks. I also love the relationship between my boys and my husband who shares his love for the outdoors and hunting with them. He has a wonderful time teaching them everything he knows... that is always fun to watch.
But along with the fun, as with raising girls, it can have it's challenging times, too. My boys have strong temperaments (All four of them!) and part of my mission with my boys is to teach them how to temper, their temperaments and guide them to be spirit-filled. All temperaments are wonderful and keeping them spirit-filled gives them the tools they need to utilize it for God's glory.
I have learned so much raising children these past eighteen years, have learned most through my failures, and God is faithful, guiding my husband and I the whole way. I am not done learning and love to be inspired by other blogs, such as M.O.B. Society, and I've opened my eyes to other parenting alternatives that has enriched my life and taught me much in how children respond best to instruction and learn. I also can't express enough about learning from wise older mothers who have traveled this path before me.
Being raised in a Christian home, I was saved when I was seven years old. I remember it like it was yesterday; my mom also had me write a scripture in my journal to mark the special day...
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him shall have everlasting life.
I have learned a lot from my mother, I emulate this special time that I experienced with my mom accepting Christ as my Savior, and enjoy the time I have with each of my children when they accept Christ for the first time. They mark the special day, too, by writing down the date they became saved with their special verse in a journal.
It is my mission as a Christian mother to teach my children about Jesus and how He is the Way the Truth and the Light. I want all of my children to come to know God as their personal savior, and enjoy the privilege of showing them Jesus in our everyday lives.

This blog is all about our unschooling journey, a parenting and learning journey, that is based on scripture, and non-traditional. What do I mean by not traditional? It isn't mainstream; and you'll see what I mean throughout my blog. I hope to inspire you to slow down, to listen to your kids more, lesson the reigns of control a little less, and enjoy your children to the fullest.
